Monday 6th June, Ottawa
Gabriel (and Sean) reach the summit of Everest
Congratulations
to Gabriel Filippi who reached the summit of
Everest last Monday, May 30th around 10:00
am (Nepal time). Gabriel left a kada
(a scarf blessed by a monk and worn by the climbers)
on which he had written 1942-2005, in memory
of Sean Egan, on the summit. He also inserted
Sean's ashes in a small pocket and Sean is now
where he always wanted to be – on top of
the world.
Return safely, Gabriel.
Those readers
living in and around Ottawa will be interested
to know that Terry Kell is speaking this Thursday,
June 9th, at the RiverEdge event in Almonte
on the Everest expedition. Terry will be taking
a display of the expedition gear and some of
the prayer flags. The talk is in
the Town Hall and starts at 8pm. All are welcome.
More details on the RiverEdge events are available

The Ad Astra web site, with the objective of
raising $150k to build a new school in Kathmandu
in memory of Sean, will be launched shortly and
announced through this email distribution.
This started as a series of blogs reporting
the progress of the Kanatek Everest expedition.
The database will now be used to keep people
informed of our progress toward completing the
school in Kathmandu. We hope that you will continue
to follow our progress but you can unsubscribe
at any time by clicking on the link below. To
