Backup & Recovery Support Specialists (Ottawa/Toronto Region)

 

For over 27 years, Kanatek has been designing, implementing and supporting complex solutions for its clients to help them deliver the best returns on their IT investment. Kanatek is an independent systems integrator specializing in data availability, networked storage, and back up and recovery solutions. Our headquarters are located in Ottawa with branch offices in Toronto and Montreal.

Kanatek urgently requires IT Administrators and Architects to implement solutions for our clients in the GTA and South Western Ontario. We need staff with experience in; backup and recovery software, tape technology, storage products, and SAN/NAS architecture.

Our Technologies:

  • Networked Storage in a mixed environment UNIX (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX) and MS Windows and/or NT and Linux
  • Symantec/Veritas Netbackup or similar backup software
  • Data Networking using Brocade, NetApp, and/or Disk Arrays
  • Mass Storage Hardware - Sun, HP, Hitachi, IBM
  • High performance storage subsystems and SAN technologies; IP SAN; iSCSI, NAS
  • Database backup and restore such as Oracle, SQL, Exchange, SAP
  • Fibre channel fabric such as Qlogic,Brocade,McDATA switches
  • Clustered systems or high availability solutions
  • Certifications (Symantec/Veritas, EMC, Sun, HP, MCSE)
  • VMware
  • Email Archiving

Applicants should be available to work occasional evenings or weekends, be able to travel within Ontario, and have a valid Driver's Licence and a vehicle to travel to client sites.
