Storage Administrator – Waterloo Region
6 month contract – Required start date: May 1st, 2008.

back up and recovery solutions. Our headquarters
are located in Ottawa with branch offices in
Toronto and Montreal.
Main responsibilities:
- Kanatek requires a senior Storage Administrator to manage and support the SAN/NAS of one of our clients. If you enjoy a fast paced environment and supporting bleeding edge technology this is the role for you.
- Backup - Monitor day-to-day backup job status, first point of contact for backup related issues, perform restores as required, deployment of new backup clients, manage tape media movement to off site locations, troubleshoot all Symantec/Veritas NetBackup issues.
- Hardware - HP / Hitachi / IBM Enterprise Disk Array Administration, first point of contact for disk related issues, provision storage as required, SRM tool administration.
- Data Networking - Brocade Fabric Administration, respond to critical alerts, maintain. fabric resiliency, allocate channel ports as required.
- NAS Storage Administration - First point of contact for NetApp issues, provision and administer NetApp storage, work with end users and business groups regarding shares.
- Additional Responsibilities - Maintain all documentation related to processes and procedures, infrastructure diagrams and technical manuals, contribute to the corporate change management process.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience with networked storage in a mixed environment
- Experience with Veritas Netbackup or similar backup software
- Experience with Brocade, NetApp, and Disk Arrays
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment
- Available to work evenings or weekends on occasion
